Here at ZeroSoil Gardens we want to start you off on the right foot and that means providing you with all the information you’ll need to get your own ZeroSoil Garden up and running. Hydroponics is simply the process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil.
Anything! From herbs such as basil, oregano, mint, and parsley to produce like tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce the possibilities of what you can grow with your hydroponics garden are endless!
Your ZeroSoil grow kit comes with everything you’ll need except for your choice of seed(s). Direct, natural sunlight will be sufficient for most types of plants but if you don’t have access to a large, sunny window you may need to supplement with additional plant lighting.
The great thing about hydroponics is that its only as complicated as you make it. All you really need is your ZeroSoil grow kit which consists of a reservoir with secure pots, air pump, air stone, and growing media and a nice sunny spot. Once you get a little more involved you can add on to your garden and fully automate the process with timers and controllers for your pH and nutrients. We immediately took to the hobby as it reminded us of a high school science project we can isolate to a small cubbyhole in our loft while others we know have what seem like semi-commercial farms set up in their spare bedrooms.
